Define the document question
Write down whether the decision concerns identity, origin, composition, authenticity, contamination, label accuracy, supplier status or another issue. A broad request for “proof” is difficult to evaluate.
Check identity, dates and linkage
Record the issuer, date, product or batch reference, method or scope where relevant, version and relationship to the selected supplier or route. Do not accept an undated or unrelated document as complete evidence.
Consider chain of custody and tampering
Ask how samples or documents were collected, transferred, stored and controlled. A photograph, certificate or test report may be useful but does not by itself establish the full chain of custody.
Escalate material concerns
Keep a record of the concern, evidence reviewed, decision owner and next action. Specialist Supplements Ltd — trading since 1995 — recommends appropriate food-safety or regulatory advice for material concerns. Reviewed 23 October 2026.
| Check | Record | Limit |
|---|---|---|
| Identity | Exact product, version or relationship | Not every product or batch |
| Evidence | Issuer, date, scope and linked reference | Not blanket approval |
| Decision | Reviewer, owner, date and next action | Not legal or technical advice |
