How do I start my own range of supplements?

Private label option - How does it work?

If you have not heard of "private label supplements" before, it simply means re-branding a manufacturer's market-ready products as your own.

We, Specialist Supplements Ltd - your wholesale supplement suppliers - handle all the expenses and complexities of getting the products formulated and manufactured, as well as ensuring that they are legally compliant. You can then pick and choose from our comprehensive catalogue, which of those products you would like to re-brand and sell as your own.

Not only do we ensure you can choose from a range of products that reflect current consumer demand and virtually any health goal, we also work to latest nutritional findings. This means that our wholesale supplements have the benefit of EFSA approved health claims - in other words, they are backed by science.

By avoiding the hassles and expense associated with bringing products to market yourself (e.g. minimum quantities of between 30,000 - 50,000 capsules per product, or 200kg - 250kg per powder formulation), instead you can simply select those products from our range that you wish to re-sell (i.e. that suit your target market), re-brand those products as your own and you can have your own range of supplements ready to get selling within a matter of days.

You don't have to worry about storing vast amounts of stock, keeping inventory or even shelf-life. We do all that for you.


Private label option - Setup process

We have a dedicated in-house "Own Label" team, ready to guide you through the simple process of private label setup with us step by step.

In summary, you:

  1. Buy one of our own label packages.
  2. Select the products you want to sell.
  3. Choose one of our label designs (which we personalise with your logo, colour scheme etc) or supply your own artwork.

And that's it. We normally complete Own Label setups in less than 10 days from start to finish. The result - you have a branded range of supplements, unique to you and your business and ready to get selling.


Do I need a lot of start-up capital to sell supplements?

No. The reason our business model is unique is that we only charge a small, one-off fee for private label setup. For this highly affordable fee, you have the option to re-brand any or all of the products in our current range. There are no contracts, ongoing commissions or hidden fees.

What's more, we have no minimum orders or cross-range restrictions. What this means in practice is that you can buy as few as one product from us at a time, as and when you make your own sales.

If you don't wish to buy from us in bulk, the only financial outlay you would need to make to start your own range of supplements is the Own Label setup fee.

Fulfilment options

If you are not in a position to, or simply don't wish to, buy products from us in bulk, you have the option to buy them a unit at a time.

You then have two options for fulfilment:

  1. You buy the products from us, we send them to you and you then ship / deliver them to your customer(s). OR
  2. The dropship option - you buy the products from us and we then ship them direct to your customer on your behalf.

We are again unique in that we offer this dropship service free of charge. We do not charge an administration fee, such as a fulfilment house would. All we charge is a postage fee (dependant on parcel weight, shipping method, destination etc), as if you were posting the item out yourself. And if you are using our dropship service, we will even apply your private labels at no extra charge.

Your customers will be completely unaware that you have not shipped the package out yourself. There would be no Specialist Supplements branding or literature anywhere in the pacakging or materials. You would have the option to include unbranded paperwork (i.e. with the order details), or (for a small additional fee) personalised delivery notes and order messages featuring your company logo and information.


Do I need a licence to sell supplements?

No. You do not need a licence and you do not need a background in the natural health industry.

Anyone can re-sell our wholesale food supplements, herbal formulations and organic food products. We supply a wide range of trade customers and natural health professionals across the world, including colonic hydrotherapists, naturopaths, herbalists, homeopaths, personal trainers, detox centres, digestive health experts, nutritionists, along with small home businesses, online retailers and independent health stores.

The benefit of re-selling supplements that we have manufactured is that we have already ensured legal compliance and quality standards have been met. Our products are manufactured under GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice) and / or ISO standards; our organic range is Soil Association certified; and we are registered as a Food Business Establishment with our local council and Trading Standards, under the Food Safety Act 1990.

All the information you will need to sell these products is available as part of our suite of trade resources, including comprehensive fact sheets. And anything not covered there can be dealt with via communication with our highly responsive in-house nutritionists.

It is also worth noting that we sell foods and food supplements, rather than medicinal products or drugs. It is therefore unlikely that users will suffer reactions to our products. What's more, our product labels conform to labelling laws, i.e. all ingredients, including allergens are listed. It is therefore up to the consumer to read the labels and decide if any ingredients do not suit them.


Can I make up my own supplement formulas?

Yes! As mentioned above, we have a comprehensive range of wholesale supplements capable of supporting virtually any health goal and appropriate for any target market.
